It was a beautiful day. I hadn’t ventured out much yet and wanted to try to find some interesting things to see. I ended up walking down roads I had only driven, and wasn’t sure I’d find much. I was out for nearly two hours and finally made my way to the ball diamond in town. It was eerie but really fun to walk around a little bit on my own. I didn’t want to go down to the softball diamond because it was at the very far end of the park, but I snapped a few photos at the Babe Ruth field. It made me think about all of the summers we spent there.
I think I enjoy taking photos of abandoned buildings and nature that is able to be wild and overgrown. I don’t like things that are too curated and neat. I love the natural state of things. I like feeling like I am given the privilege to see the environment as it should be; a mere spectator – a ghost that just floats around but does not touch anything valuable. I am loving everything I see – I am discovering stories within every building and every stream. Maybe one day I’ll write the stories I hear in the wind.
I’d love to hear what you think about these photos – if I should continue walking around town and taking photos like this. 🙂

I am unapologetically running as fast as I can into the unknown and cursing at myself the entire time for it.

Love these! Especially the one of the red scoreboard. Looks like it could have been taken in the 1950’s. Vintage pic.
